Inverness FL: A 45-year old male nurse was charged with raping five sedated patients while
they were in the recovery room....More than 40 women fear they were assaulted,
but were too drugged to realize it.
Kansas City, MO:A 7 hour-old infant was abducted from her mother's room at 1 p.m.. An immediate
search of the hospital failed to locate the child. The mother's room was located
across the hall from an "unsecured" stairwell door.
For the healthcare risk management team, a well managed comprehensive security
program provides the basis for controlling casualty risks. Two problems face risk
managers with regard to security issues.
