How long has Risk Decisions been in business?
Risk Decisions has been in business since 1995. Before then, Principal Management
Consultant Bob Schultheiss was a senior project manager for a large security and
environmental services firm.
Risk Decisions looks like a really small firm, how can you cover the range of
services that you offer?
Risk Decisions specializes in assembling highly skilled teams of independent
security risk management consultants to meet the needs of our clients. Our staff
have years of experience in a wide range of environments, ranging from small offices
to schools, airports, ships, water utilities and nuclear production and research
facilities.
Our pledge is that we will not take an assignment that we are not absolutely
convinced is within our skill set.
Why should we use a small firm, rather one of the larger consulting firms?
There are a number of reasons to use a smaller firm for your risk management
needs.
- First, our size ensures that you get our complete attention. Our consultants
know that our success is entirely dependent on meeting our clients needs.
- Second, many major consulting firms market their senior staff and then actually
use less experienced personnel for most of the work. We don’t have that luxury.
Our clients always get senior staff.
- Third our overhead costs are significantly lower than our large competitors meaning
project costs are generally significantly lower.
Some security service providers offer low or no cost consulting services. Why
should we pay for your services?
You are absolutely correct. Some guard services, alarm systems companies and
others offer consulting services for free or at highly reduced rates. We are independent
risk management consultants with no ties to a particular type or brand of equipment/service.
As a result, our recommendations are focused on your needs, rather than the need
to sell equipment or services.

Who We Are:
Risk Decisions is a security management consulting firm providing services to
both government and corporate clients in identification, prioritization and management
of security risks. Risk Decisions uses many security assessment tools to evaluate
the effectiveness of security systems, including the recently released, RAM-W
for assessing the security posture of water utilities. RAM-W was developed by
Sandia National Laboratory for the US Environmental Protection Agency.
